Greeting
by Store Head,
Michiyo Matsuura |
 |
| In July, it will be 6 years since I founded the “Pottery House Ars Nova” for the creation and sales of ceramics.Hello!, My name is Matsura of Ars Nova.Time has literally flown by since I opened this shop while crafting pottery in this wonderful location here in YaoCity. As I worked with near obsession on my own pottery works, I traveled widely and became increasingly acquainted with the works of others that exhibited the artists’ strong individual characteristics. One thing led to another and culminated in the opening of this WEB-SHOP.I hope to deliver one by one these individualistic works of art to your homes. |

| The Newly Updated Website |
With much help from good friends, we have completed major restructuring of this website. My thanks go out to all of the artists, with whom I now feel even closer.
Mr.Hiroyuki Yamada, in the company of several large dogs and a big, newly arrived cat creates his works in an old house atop a small hill in Shigaragi. We’ve been acquainted for 7 years since we met at an exhibit in Kobe.He has a refreshing personality, much like a young soccer player.
Mr.Tomoyuki Takemura, lives in an old house in Otsu surrounded by adorable children. His large workshop faces an array of pure white porcelain.
Mr.Tetsuhiko Yamamoto, makes a broad and diverse range of pottery which is frequently adorned by his wife’s calligraphy.
Mr.Yuto Yasumi, has a rare thatched roof workshop in Shigaragi. He’s a quiet artist.
I, Michiyo Matsuura, am fond of music and international exchange, but now, I feel I have arrived—surrounded by clay, gas, and works of art and heavy things— rubbing my hands together with sheer joy.
I am happily building up Ars Nova in association with kilners etc., and have included laquerware of my design that I have ordered for my own use.
I hope you will continue your association with me for a long time—I will be waiting in my shop.
